About C² Studio

Cherie Chiu, Founder of C² Studio, where every stitch tells a story worth keeping.

I started C² Studio because I wanted to make pretty things for the people around me — hand towels for friends and family, and heirloom outfits for my niece and nephew to wear now and keep later, when they can no longer fit into them. I have never believed in fast fashion or gifts that are easily forgotten. I believe in thoughtful details, in pieces you can hold onto for a lifetime, and in the quiet beauty that comes from something made with care.

It started with a few thoughtful gifts, small stitched pieces made for the people I love. Seeing how much they cherished them made me realize that embroidery could hold more than design or decoration. It could hold feeling, memory, and care. That is when C² Studio began to take shape.

I love inside jokes, shared memories, and the quiet ways emotion can be captured in thread. I do not want to be just another embroiderer. I want to be someone who grows with people through college graduations, proposals, weddings, and maybe even the next generation. That sense of continuity inspires everything I make. Each piece is a reminder that connection can be stitched and that meaning can be made visible.

I grew up in my parents’ restaurant, a place where families became regulars and faces turned into stories. I watched kids grow up, move away, and come back with families of their own. It taught me that connection is built in moments, not grand gestures, and that what we create can outlast us.

That is what I want C² Studio to feel like: a place that becomes part of someone’s life, quietly and meaningfully.

Today, C² Studio is my way of inviting people to pause and reflect, to turn passing moments into something they can hold and remember. Through embroidery, I get to transform stories, memories, and gestures into keepsakes made to last. Whether it is a personalized gift, a wedding detail, or a live embroidery experience, everything begins with the same intention: to make something thoughtful, beautiful, and meant to be kept.

C² Studio is not just about thread and fabric. It is about connection, about creating with care, and about helping people remember that what we feel is worth preserving.

This studio is a reflection of everything I love: slow mornings, tiny details, deep feelings, and the joy of making something that truly matters.

Behind the Thread

  • I have been a Taylor Swift fan since Teardrops on My Guitar. I love storytelling, Easter eggs, and the small details that carry big emotion.
  • My husband and I share a favorite pastime: going to open houses and Parade of Homes weekends to gather inspiration.
  • I am the biggest foodie you’ll ever meet. My travel itinerary always starts (and ends) with restaurants.
  • My drink order is four shots of espresso over ice to start my day, or an espresso tonic if I’m out and about.
  • My toy poodle, Mellie, is my constant studio companion. I’m her emotional support human as much as she’s mine.
